Joel Jamieson is the founder of 8weeksout and widely regarded as one of the world’s foremost authorities on strength and conditioning for combat sports. He has more than 7 years experience working with many of the top athletes in the sport and has trained over 30 of the biggest names in MMA, including 7 world champions. He formerly served as the Director of Strength & Conditioning for Pride FC and currently works in a similar capacity for Dream.
Prior to his work in MMA and combat sports, he spent time training D-1 football players and worked in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks. He has trained countless teams and athletes from the NFL, MLS, NHL and NBA and Olympic competitors from 5 different sports. Joel has been featured in magazines such as Muscle & Fitness, Men’s Health UK, Fighting Fit, Healthy for Men and is a regular contributor to Sherdog’s training section.
In 2009 Jamieson authored Ultimate MMA Conditioning, the definitive guide to getting ready to fight, and it has since gone one to sell more than 3,000 copies in more than 50 countries. Landon Evans
Landon received his Masters in Exercise Physiology, Bachelors in Health and Human Performance, and is currently pursuing the requisites to become a Registered Dietitian. His coaching career includes both collegiate and private settings. He has worked with hundreds of athletes ranging from the high school to professional ranks with a number of professional athletes who previously or currently compete in the NFL, CFL, AFL, NBA, WNBA, NPF and the Olympics.
Landon’s coaching philosophy is governed by the sciences of human performance, biological individuality, and interactions with countless sport and physical preparation coaches. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and USAW Level 1 Club Coach. Dave Tenney
David Tenney was named the Sounders FC fitness coach on January 9, 2009. He is one of Major League Soccer’s most respected and highly-regarded fitness coaches following two years in Kansas City. Prior to joining Sounders FC, during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, Tenney served as both fitness and goalkeeper coach for the Wizards.
Prior to MLS, Tenney held the same dual role the George Mason University men’s and women’s teams for two seasons. He earned his B.I.S. in coaching science from George Mason in 2005.While at George Mason, Tenney also served as director of coaching for the Washington Freedom youth teams from 2004-06 and as Maryland’s girls director of ODP.
Tenney’s playing career features both collegiate and indoor professional honors. At Virginia Tech (1989-91) he served as team captain the final two seasons. As the Hokies’ goalkeeper, he was voted Metro Conference Defensive MVP in 1989.
His professional career began overseas with Germany’s SV Linx (1992-93) and FC Rastatt (1993-94). He returned home to play for the Washington Warthogs of the Continental Indoor Soccer League from 1994-97. He was with the Baltimore Blast of the NPSL from 1998-2000 and also starred for the Baton Rouge Bombers, earning second team all-EISL in 1998.
Buddy Morris
Buddy Morris is one of the nation’s premier physical preparation coaches and has more than 30 years of coaching experience. During this time, he has worked at both the Collegiate and the NFL level and trained some of the country’s best athletes. Some of his former athletes include NFL legends such as Dan Marino, Mark Stepnoski and Curtis Martin.
He served on more than one occasion as head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the University of Pittsburgh and held the same title for the NFL’s Cleveland Browns from 2002-2005.
Buddy has been featured in the Sporting News, Muscle & Fitness, and contributed to Elite Fitness Systems. Buddy was also an accomplished athlete himself and was a four-year letterman in track and field while at the University of Pittsburgh.
