goal is to get in shape to have my first fight in an actual venue. It has been years and all fights were held in our gym. Possibly in 6 months. My fight will be 3 two minute rounds
Would like to see if you guys see anything I can change. Disregarding my other post I am more fast twitch by nature. I have been powerlifting for some time and have excellent strength. And while I can't run more than 2 mins without my leg on fire I can spar round after round and feel great. So here is my plan for the next 8 weeks maybe even 16. I feel that for at least the next 8 week I need block a of general endurance. My schedule will go as follows. And I am working with some time constraints here.
Day 1- max effort lift bench, t bar rows. Pullups. Maybe some dumbbells to finish. All for 2 sets of 3-5. In my experience with lifting 1 all out set would be suffice. But my set of bench are with 440. So recovery is in mind.
Immeditely following I will do 45 mins of cardiac output training at 130-150 bpm. Switching fro. Treadmill to bike to rower.
Day 2 kickboxing. 3 2 min rounds on handpads. 12-15 rounds of intense sparring
Day 3- 15 hill sprints using hri method. Following with a core workout with medicine balls etc. Which lasts about 20 mins. May possibly be another kickboxing session too instead of medicine ball work.
Day 4
Max Effort Lift- Squats, shoulder press, deadlift or shrugs
Followed by 45-60 mins of cadiac output same as day 1.
Day 5- Very similar to day 2.
I am thinking about another day of cardiac output due to my poor aerobic conditioning.With keeping my lifting at a maintenance level my recovery is awesome. Plus Im pounding protein and BCAA. At least 80g a day.
I am in week 2 right now.
